neilsmith
As above, does heat wraping the mani and de-cat make a difference in power? I've heard people saying it will make the car pop flames and stuff, is this true?Im just curious lol
ryan lang
wont make a noticable difference in performance, but every little helps will make a nice change in exhaust note though
mattyD
apparently it aids performance by keeping the exhaust gases higher allowing a quicker flow for exit, also keeps under engine temps down which is always a bonus
templar2007
Ya same as the two above and pops a lot more lol
string
does it not find the defects in the Mani and crack it due to more heat? Think there was a big thread on wrappin n my view was exhaust was fine. Unless ya Mani was brand new it was more bad than good. Maybe wrong.
Dan507
A mid steel mani will be alright but its the stainless ones which crack
Amjad
Makes a good noise
The Toffinator
Keeps heat and sound/vibrations contained in the exhaust=better flow, cooler temps around the car and engine bay, And obviously with hotter gases you get more flames, pops etc
mattyD
anyone heatwrapped there stainless mani without any problems?
B11G KY
Yea it depends what mani you have mate, Ricky lee or zisco something like that will be fine anything from eBay or toyo sports ect that are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot will crack for sure!My mates rs turbo has a wrapped mani and the cooling / isolation properties of it are amazing i mean the mani was touchable after a good 10 minutes of abuse! mattyD
sounds good to me mate, i have a racetech mani being made up for me at the moment so will be looking to heatwrap that aswell as the downpipe if heat wrapping the exhaust makes a difference, how about wrapping the intercooler pipes that go to the inlet and the hotpipe? i know you have to use reflective tape stuff but is it worth doing this? mark1991
i am going to do this soon i did it to my citroen c2 gt and when i wrapped the manifold it popped alot better letting off at 70, but i am going on ebay now and goign to buy a roll lol and i will say to use jubilee clips as the stainless ties are good but jubilee clips have a better hold
