turbo newbie
Hi my names Andrew im 26 and im in the process of selling my Honda DelSol which was featured in this months banzai and i was also a member of delsoluk . I have a friend who is selling me his N reg Glanza v it has 100,000 on the clock but the engine has been rebuilt and the turbo has been removed to have turbo seals fitted but im not sure what the engine is as if looked through your web site and theres quite a few engines. As my name says im a turbo newbie never owned a turbo before. I have soon spare cash floating around to spend and in looking to fitt fmi.coolent hoses,ht leads, new spark plugs, new blow off valve and wheels. I have a few questions what are the wheels offset,And where would be the best place to find the rest of the parts and what would be the best parts to use. Most people are a bit dump struck when you mention the word glanza . Im also looking for a parcel shelf. Any help would be greatful. Many thanxs Turbo newbie
Sparky
Welcome to the club mate you have made the right decision Delsol in Banzai you say? got any pics of it? As for offest i think et37 is spot on but anything between et35 and 40 should be OK depending on what size wheels and how low etc. Hope this helps Hope to see you in some discussions soon
SiCaln
if its a Glanza it will more than likely be a 1.3 litre 4e-fte with a ct9b turbo unless hes made a 5e-fte or changed the turbo, but thats less likely
turbo newbie
Thanx guys i did try and post a reply not sure if i did or my computers slow or i sent to someone . The engine code means noting but im sure it will in no time at all. i do have some pics.I no its not everyones tast. Im going to be concentrating on the engine of the starlet as i love the way the out side looks
ecksjay
that looked tidy mate.it'll be a 4e-fte in the glanza, and it'll take a bit of getting used to as crx's are renowned to handle very well, so the starlet will feel, well, lets be honest, it'll feel like a boat, on roller skates, no matter what you try an do to it, crx's will shit all over a highly modified one round the twisties, thats life !although, engine wise they are a tad more tunable i'd say, get some pics up when you get it so we can see its current state and then we can recommend a suitable course for you to proceed with, so you dont end up wasting your money on useless bits that arent really needed. Glanza_Ragger
what an engine bays supposed to look like i dont generally like delsol's but thats an exception nice car.and good choice for going for a starlet. as ecks said, they handle like a boat unless you spend some pennys sorting it. then they handle quite well.engine wise, i would say you have alot more options , all depends if you want to drag it, track it, or just have a generally nippy car

With jap fest looming any surggestions on nice engine modds would be great looking foe a front mounted intercooler, some clear indicators a new blow off valve and anything that anyone can surggest???? SiCaln
well the fmic makes a big difference and uv got a few options, JAM, HRF, Greddy and BLitz are the big names or go for petbeemers or WEPRs ones over on TGTT, clear indicators are available from toyota quite cheaply and BOVs are universal so doubt ill have to explain them to you - but theres a blitz one in the for sale section
