I was having this arguement with a mate, and i couldnt explain it...

Fact 1: you cant run boost below spring pressure of the wastegate/actuator

Fact 2: with no boost controller you will run spring pressure

then how does the low boost mode work in the Glanza/GT?

as when you remove the soleniod you run high boost all the time

Can somebody explain please?

The only explanation i could think of was the oposite of how a bleed valve works, so instead of bleeding off presure the soloniod generates pressure and uses that to 'lie' to the actuator

Thanks

ok

ill have a check, the reason for asking is my mate has a glanza.

it has the standard actuator, filter relocation, exhaust sytem inc decat

and the low boost removed

however when he boots it it only lights up two lights, we plugged in a a boost guage and its running 6psi (0.4 bar).

the turbo has been changed so it is possible hoses have got mixed up, possibly resulting in it being 'stuck' in low boost.

im guessing itll proobably be a knackered actuator, so will get him a hks one.

Yeah i will check it tonight to check that one goes to the turbo, and one goes to the boost solenoid.

Well it sounds as if he is wanting to remove the low boost altogether if so just remove any pipe thats on the second port of the actuator and leave it to vent to atmosphere
