nazzurro19 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Wouldnt thermal wrap be better on ya fmicPipes u want to keep cold in heat out but that wrap surly keeps heat in? Quote
Blitz Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 like a thermal flask keeps cold cold and hot hot makes senseps where did you get your gaskets? Quote
WallaceGlanza Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Big decision here. Depends where it is though if you're that fussy - you can't see mine normally: Quote
Jamie1st Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Wouldnt thermal wrap be better on ya fmicPipes u want to keep cold in heat out but that wrap surly keeps heat in?The engine bay is hotter than inside the IC piping, therefore it would stop the heat from the engine getting absorbed by the IC pipinglike a thermal flask keeps cold cold and hot hot makes senseps where did you get your gaskets? You talking to me? Cuz I haven't a clue what gaskets you're on about lolJ Quote
mattyD Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 looking good so far lads im liking a purple one to be honest and as of yet, i havent even seen the manifold yet so i have no idea where abouts the takeoff for it is Keep the pictures coming though Quote
Jozinobi Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Silver tends to corrode a little, so best bet is to go for anything but base silver as the rest are anodised I had no choice as mine came with the kit. Had the choice I'd go red or gold Joz Quote
Blitz Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 You talking to me? Cuz I haven't a clue what gaskets you're on about lolJno sorry was talking to naz Quote
grum-glanza Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 whats the story with wastegates because my turbo packed up so im decideing to go with an external wastegate setup but when i was looking at them some are realy cheap like 84 quid on ebay and then i seen tial ones up around 800 quid i know there is different models of them but whats the difference from one to another Quote
nazzurro19 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Heatwrap keeps heat in so you get higher temps etc thoughAnd ben its a td04 , td04s come off scoobys so i went dingles suburu for gaskets ;) Quote
Blitz Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 And ben its a td04 , td04s come off scoobys so i went dingles suburu for gaskets ;)cheers dude seems a shame i got that turbo and never even fitted it "/ Quote

mattyD Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 hmmmmmmmmmmm im still leaning towards purple me thinks but i was told that as they get quite hot, the anodising sometimes doesnt last as long?????? Quote
Liam_D Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Ive seen anodised ones fade in the past! Quote

mattyD Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Heres mine:Purple Tiali like where is your air filter though bud? as im running an hks filter at the front where your wastegate seems to be Quote
BoGlE Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Mine is also a hks mushroom filter. It sits just behind the front mount..Abit of a tight fit like but im just gona run some ducting from the drivers fog light to the inlet of the tubby. Will make it look abit neater aswell Quote
