Weyro
Has anyone bought one of these kits on eBay for £100.Seem like really good value. My current OEM clutch is starting to slip a bit when the boost comes on hard. The pedal is quite high so I'm assuming this is down to wear and not that an OEM can't handle it
StuDoc 72
Its just exedy's standard clutch which would be pretty much the same as toyotas I ordered one last week when i seen 'organic clutch' thinking it was the ultra fibre one and i was getting a bargain only to find out its not so i am now in the process of getting a refund. Look for the greenspeed one its been reduced from 210 quid to 168 and looks a good clutch.
micky boy
Yeah im not to keen on Exedy Clutches heard to many bad things about them!..I was thinking of buying the greenspeed one but havent heard any feedback about them!
StuDoc 72
I was the same way i quite fancied the greenspeed one aswell but couldnt get any feedback on them although they have a full range so i reckon they must be decent enough.
micky boy
Ever way i think they will be better the Exedy lol.Think i might just buy the greenspeed and give it ago
Asad
Exedy standard replacements are fine, the uprated ones such as the 3 paddle one is what some people have issues with and others dont iirc dave (rip) recommended it highly as he used it on the demo track car...others like idrees didnt have much luck with it Go with a brand thats tried and tested, cap seems to he a good one to go for
triple j
i have a new exedy standard and its griping a td04 very well.
Starlet__SR
Competition clutch stage 4, bit expensive but worth it. Fitted one to a 300bhp exige which uses the exact clutch kit, nice solid feel on the pedal and 6000 miles on its still going strong.Day
Weyro
Just discovered that EuroCarParts do the same kit but cheaper than ebay lolhttp://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Toyota_Starlet_1.3_1998/p/car-parts/car-transmission/clutch-and-associated-parts/clutch-kit/?641820110&1&b5723ed378323031d7bbf0f4e90a66ab40137d0d&000069
Starlet__SR
Do be warned that some kits from ECP are basically just reboxed Valeo kits, I had one when from them, it lasted 3 weeks on low boost.Day
Asad
that kit is for a N/A...the diameter should 212mm for a glanza

maddox710
My last cluch was from factory and had cover 65000 miles, I've just replaced it with a standard exedy as i can get them for under £50 new
Mike_trx
Used the standard exedy replacement myself twice now, clutch seems to last slightly longer than the oem one, and bite's slightly better too under serious abuse. My only negative is both times the clutch release bearing started making noises fairly early, the current one doing the same. Im going to try the greenspeed one too next time, let us know how it is StuDoc 72!
StuDoc 72
I am waiting on it being delivered at the moment will try and post a few pics up when its delivered though.

Will-Foxxy
^^^^ How are you getting on with your greenspeed mate? I need a new clucth soon and just wanted to know if it was any good, thinking in buying one but would like to have somebodies elses opninon tbh
StuDoc 72
Its only been in for a week or so mate and it feels strong there wasnt a whole lot wrong with my old clutch and when i took it out there was plenty meat left on the disk. Its rated as a stage 1 clutch and the clutch disk is an exedy part so i assume its just the stage 1 exedy clutch but sprayed green and cheaper. win win situation if you add me. Also have a standard exedy one here if anybody is desp.
