Dickydan
I dont want insane power only lookin about 200-250 but i dont want lag because im looking at gettin full boost asapI want it abit quicker than my bros old gt which had decat, fmic, fcd, stripped, s/s japspeed , air filter relocated and a manual boost actuator and thats it i think standard ct9 i think Edited September 14, 2012 by Dickydan
Azz
Well a td04 or vf22 will be more than enough if your only after that power mate

Azz
Yes a hybrid would see that but pretty maxed out a.vf22 should be well within its power around 240hp and be nice and safe
td04 glanza
What kind of lag with a vf22 compared to a hybrid ct9?
Johnboy GT
Td12 makes good power with not alot of lag. Kemnay Chris will have up for sale in the next week I believe.John
td04 glanza
Is a td12 not bigger than a td04?
Azz
Vf22 with a good map will be between a ct9 and a td04 on lag
td04 glanza
is it a td series fitment for the vf turbos yeh?
Corey
Vf22 with a good map will be between a ct9 and a td04 on lagI think you've mistaken turbos dude a vf22 is a seriously laggy turbo it probably has the most lag out of the vf series. Edited September 14, 2012 by Corey
td04 glanza
I thought this, Just been reading up on a subaru forum and supposedly the vf22 is one of the more laggy turbo's?? Sometimes wish people wouldn't post things they dont really know about cause it can be very miss leading for people!

Corey
Agreed he also says a gt28/30 has less lag than a td12 which is also very wrong lol. Edited September 14, 2012 by Corey
yaristurbo
Arnt td12s tiny compared to a gt30
td04 glanza
Arnt td12s tiny compared to a gt30Yes, im not an expert in this department but some basic reading through the internet and the td12 is just an upgraded ct9 but the gt30 turbo's are monsters
td04 glanza
Are there any threads that explain all the tubbys used on the ep's?? If not that would be a great sticky to make right from the basic ct9 to custom built mosters running you 500+break boys ep's!
Azz
A vf28 is less laggy sorry my fault, I upgraded from td04 to vf on my old engine and found it better. Not a massive amount and for price difference to a vf you can't really fault the td04.
Dickydan
So which would be better ? Ct9 hybrid? Td12 or td04? Meaning the lag and power i dont wanna put the turbo on too much strain as it wont last long! So id prefer one thats not on its limits but i want a turbo that spools pretty close to a ct9
mattyD
td04 probably dude, and if anything goes wrong they are cheap to replace
td04 glanza
Ive just been running a td04 set-up and it was pretty good for lag and getting around 260-270bhp but im going for a change this time and hope to run a fresh hybrid ct9 at around 210bhp with quicker spool than the td04.I done a quarter mile run when i was running td04 at 260bhp and a gt with a hybrid running around 200bhp beat me, to be fair i was catching at the end but he was gone at the start. Both of us had the same tyres and sort of handling spec.My new build will be aimed around being fast on tight wyndy roads so i wont really be seing alot of top end and the spool should be awesome if i run an uprated top mount.
