PhilGT93 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 i've tried allsorts to bleed my clutch spent arround 2 hours doing it and still nothingcould the cylinder on the bulk head be nakered ? or any ideas much appreciated cheers Quote
Idrees Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 What exactly do you mean by it won't bleed? Please elaborate Quote
Simon Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Mine was a absolute arse Phil when i changed to a braided line and cleaned the system. I had to pressure bleed the system to get the fluid through. Quote
Idrees Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 First thing I'd say is check the metal pipe that fits on the slave cylinder isn't leaking at all. That problem has caught me out in the past, the leak was really tiny so I didn't notice it at first. It was letting air in so it was impossible to bleed. Quote
PhilGT93 Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 ive checked that one idrees and its nice and tight and thers no fluid coming through at all ive done it the usual way with pedal and bleed nippletried using pedal and fork togetherand tried forcing fluid from the bled nipple to the resovoir, doing it this way the resovoir filled up and started overflowing but as soon as you go back to normal thers just no fluid movement Quote
morgey Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Is the bleed nipple clogged up? Have you removed it and see if it comes through without it on there? Quote
PhilGT93 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 if i push the slave cylinder in fluid comes out the bleed nipple but using pedal does nothing Quote
morgey Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 What about if you remove the pipe from the slave cyl and try pumping it? Quote
PhilGT93 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 havnt tried that mate good idea ill give it a bash tommorow as ive got someone having a look at it for me aswell Quote
Flaminsam Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Leave bleed nipple closed and pump pedal. After around 20secs of pumping hold the pedal down and get a helper to open the bleed nipple. Then close the nipple and continue pumping. Repeat until all air is expelled and you should have a clutch. Keep a eye on the fluid level while bleeding too. Quote
JayJ Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As Flamingsam said, get someone to help you. It's (almost) impossible to bleed the clutch by yourself. Quote
micky boy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I was helping him bleed the cluch guys but we had no joy and my thoughts where right from the start why it wouldnt bleed!Because Phil was told the stock thrust bearing would be ok to use on the blitz active cluch when infact its not hence him haveing trubble bleeding the system and it not going into gear!!!!..So gearbox has to come back off the joys of cars hey lolThanks for your help anyways guys Quote
JayJ Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Are you guys sure the master cylinder is working? I might be wrong, but I think that clutch assy shouldn't affect the bleeding. Quote
micky boy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Sorry i put that rong its bleeding but because theres loads of play on the fork that meets the slave cyl its not pushing the slave cyl fully in!..So when we are opening the nipple and pressing the cluch bettle nothting happing because the stock thrust bearing isnt getting pushed against the pressure plate as its to sort! (needs spaceing out) if you get me? the blitz thrust bearings are much wider then a stock bearing! Quote
