running sub with no amp

If you connect the wires up yes you'll hear sound from it but it will be shit, you really need an amp.

And I'm sure I read somewhere that "under powering" a sub doesn't do it any good.

Deffo run an amp mate your normal stereo load won't be able to cope with it so it start to damage your sub and prob blow your head unit if it's asking for enough power
