dan106 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Just want to know if its worth buying the corolla throttle body with the inlet, just my orginal one or even getting the turbo one?Opinions please!Cheers! Quote
ryan lang Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 best of using the original one dude. the turbo TB is a slightly different shape and you'll get a slight air leak Quote
dan106 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 So is the corolla one any different to mine? Jist wondering if its worth the extra £20 to get it with the mani.Cheers for the reply dude! Quote
ryan lang Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 the corolla TB is the same as the starlet dudethe corolla manifold will make a nice little difference Quote
dan106 Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Banging, nice one mate, yeah im hoping it, will, getting it for £20, just gta make my exhaust and jobs a gooden!Cheers for the help, glad i found this place got no reply on uksc Quote
ryan lang Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 this is evolved from uksc dude. uksc is deadwe all moved here lol Quote
ali_legend Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Mate I had my n/a at 90bhp and I originally had a rolla Mani, I felt the car was a lot more responsive with a glanza inlet mate and original starlet TB Quote
dan106 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 this is evolved from uksc dude. uksc is deadwe all moved here lolI did wonder how i was already joined up and logged in!Mate I had my n/a at 90bhp and I originally had a rolla Mani, I felt the car was a lot more responsive with a glanza inlet mate and original starlet TBIve read that the corolla one gives it a better all round performance whereas the fte inlet gives better top end, im rarely in the top of the rev range! Also, how much should i expect to pay for a corolla inlet? Quote
ali_legend Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I found the FTE mani alot more responsive through the rev range mate. Your looling to spend about £50/£80 for a rolla mani Quote
Asad Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 5efe inlet is the same as the standard 4efe one from the starlet, i.e no usei have a FTE inlet on mine with a std throttle body and found it to be much better when compared to the corolla manifold, if you have the corolla one slap it on if not buy a FTE one and use that they are cheaper anyway Quote
redz11 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 My S had a glanza inlet with standard tb, it just didn't wanna fuel right (found the reason why, there was a hole in the exhaust) which it had when it was dyno'd at 84bhp lol..If youre looking for a GT throttle body I have one for sale Quote
dan106 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 How much is an fte inlet gonna set me back? And whats involved in fitting it as i imagine some bits wont be the same?Is it worth putting a fte throttle body on aswell then?Gutted that i didnt get the corolla inlet that was 20 quid now! Quote
Asad Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Cost free-£30 Fitting, you need to plug up some holes and re-position the throttle cable mount but nothing majorFte throttle body would give it a very top end powerband sticking with the stock inlet box is best regardlessUp to yourself, repends on what kind of driving you do Quote
dan106 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Ah im running an apexi atm, i try to stay away from top end if im honest, purely because of fuel costs.Gahh im not sure what to go for now, i decatted it yesterday night and that made quite more responsive.hmmm, so pretty much the fte inlet is still better the corolla all round? Quote
ali_legend Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I would defo go for FTE mate, as I said I had a rolls Mani first and it felt so much more responsive with a FTE If keep standard TB though Quote
dan106 Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 Just a quick one, just got my corolla inlet, ive heard i need to change one of the vacuum lines to a longer one, which one is it and how long does it need to be? My mates got some orange stuff spare of his rs turbo.Cheers!! Quote
rmsnoel Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 does anyone have a rolla manifold off the car they could measure the tb port for me. In mm cheers I dont want to take my tb off and bust the sealer. Also my mpg has went from 150 to 170+ per £30 mines an auto so its sore on juice compared to manual Quote
