whitestar Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Looking for a set of 16x7.5 front and 16x9 back. I know that it depends on the offset, but I'd just like to know is this even possible. Quote
lew777 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 hard to say without knowing the offset mate Quote
Simon Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I think you would struggle to do this for any real benifit as you would really only be doing this for looks which i would guess would mean a low offset wheel. Considering most people struggle with an 8J ET10 a 9J wheel would have to be ET20-35 and will still need quite a bit of work and will always be a compromise. Quote
TrisK Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Simon think about itA 9j at a reasonable offset it going to hit caliper, spring and probably bumper mounts pointsA general rule for the starlets6-7 you'll be ok7 depends in the offset and tyre choice (probably arch work)8 will require stretch and arch work (probably extended arches)9s probably not gonna helm without serious work Quote
whitestar Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Yeah, guesed that it might be quite impossible job to do. Found great calculator for offset:http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.aspThat gives an idea how much more space the new wheels is going to need. Thanks for the replies! Quote

TrisK Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I always use:http://www.willtheyfit.com/As you can play with tyre sizes too yeah but remeber the strut bit of the diagram is worthlessThe strut shown in the diagram is for show only - Don't worry if the wheel looks like it fouls! Quote
