Which wideband?

Recommended Posts

The aem does not have a simulated narrow band. Yes the dials are a touch bright but it all depends on where you mount it. It only needs calibrating on first installation. Its really easy to use. With the aem you will have to run the standard lambda sensor too really.

The MTX uses a Bosch LSU 4 wideband sensor, which needs calibrating.

According to innovates website the LC-1 has auto calibration for changes in sensor wear, temp etc. Although is probably still best to calibrate it every so often.

The LC-1 you get with all the gauge kits apart from the MTX kit.

Don't quote me but I'm not sure if the AEM can be linked to aftermarket ecu's, maybe AEM's own but others i'm not sure. Where as the innovate gear can deffinately be used with aftermarket ecu's.

Standard ecu's will require the use of a narrowband sensor, and I'm very sure the aftermarket plug and plays also require this.

Thats true you will need to have the boss welded in further away from the turbo, a lot of people just use the wideband purely as a gauge and let the stock narrowband sensor do its job in the stock position.

I run a PLX dm-6 wide band, that has a out put for the ECU, does not require any thing doing once fitted, and can be added to with loads more sensors and modules I have the EGT sensor on mine too. Will at RDT has had to bin at least 6 AEM ones in as many months due to sensor faults and not been accurate.

fair enough, if you want a flashy gauge then plx/aem/innovate it is...most go for aem (cheapest) then innovate...hardly any plx users about on here apart from rob i think

it may be expensive but dig a little deeper and you`ll soon find out why, they also ship with there own NTK sensor not the common bosch....and who holds a majority market for aftermarket sparkplugs/lambda sensors?....NGK and NTK ceramics devision 8)

It does look quality mate, but as I say i'm after a gauge, nowhere to put a module like that tbh.

I'm really not sure what to get tbh, wanting to order tomorrow and my choice will be between

Innovate DB

PLX

MTX-L

Or AEM UEGO

http://www.aemelectronics.com/wideband-air-fuel-systems-15/digital-wideband-air-fuel-gauge-25/

Now i'm thinking towards to innovate DB, purely because its gonna look the most similar to the gauges i'm gonna get for the pod with it, but can anyone tell me if this is a good choice or not?

James, need one ASAP tbh mate, as I need to confirm my fuelling is ok? The depo was my original choice but akyakapotters experience put me off, was that a one off?

Ah I need to get one ordered tomorrow really, might go for the innovate DB then as its the closest to the depo gauges.

As for the oil pressure and boost gauges, can you get those ones with the digital readout on bottom right also james?

Cany anyone confirm the thread of the wideband so I can order a stainless boss
