little dave Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Just looked your 100% correct that's not bad Quote
AdamB Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Depends if your building it yourself or if your going to get it outsourced really? Quote
turbo Grant Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I thought the vf series turbos tend to shit them selves after 1.4 bar? And for the engine it will set you back 2k easy. Quote

little dave Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Imagine it to be more a gt30 than a vf turbo like I say it's a hybrid Quote
AdamB Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 If your looking for a quick cheap build then you can probably get it all in for £2k. For a build which will withstand any sort of punishment you'll probably be looking closer to £3k. Quote
Taggy Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Hope the guide helps, prices for forged deals have dropped a little bit since i built mine, but yes dont expect to get much change from £2k! Quote
little dave Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 well looking at it i think im going to start putting money aside and spend it once and with the right people im happy to wait for a lovely car as long as it comes in the end. Quote
daniel_g Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Taggy, how much did your machinist charge you, and what work did you have done ? Quote
Taggy Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 errrrm let me check, prices are without vatResurfacing the engine block (Decked) £56Notching the block to accept 5e rods £75Rebore oversize and cylinder hone block £104Polish the crank £13skim head £39 Quote
Bean Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 It's not cheap even if you do it your self. You need to factor in all the new service parts too, belts, pumps, plugs ect. Then all the running in mineral oil then the decent stuff after running it in, plus a handful of oil filters. Quote
