pain in ass driveshaft cup....

any tricks to removing the green cup for the driveshaft from the gearbox? just spent best part of an hour and a half beating the shit outta it with a chisel and hammer and its not moving at all tho the first one came out first hit. doing my head in lol. the gearbox is outta the car but trying to knock it out this way just isnt working.

Keep rotating it and push it back in after every hit until it starts coming out properly lol other than that erm hit it harder lol

honestly dont think i could hit it harder if i tryed lol and i wouldnt say am a little guy lol.... driving me insane was even looking over at the air hammer but decided that would end badly lol.

Naa seriously i had one like it on my car spent hours attacking it. Gave up came back a week later gave it one hit and it came straight out. As you can imagine i was like WTF!?! Haha

aye i could feel the rage coming so decided to take a break lol. ill try again in a bit dont want to book a courier for the box and not be able to get the cup out lol.

I got a really thick chisel and jammed it between the box and the cup, then hit the chisel down the way.

You will know what a mean when you look at it man.

Sounds like an issue i had.

By the sounds of it the circlip on the end of the shaft has been bent out of shape when putting it in.

I had 8 ton on mine and it still didnt move... Ended up cutting the pot off, stripped the gearbox to get the Quaife out, stripped the Quaife down, and machined out the rest of the shaft that was still stuck in there.

Pain in the arse.
