_shaun_ Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 any tricks to removing the green cup for the driveshaft from the gearbox? just spent best part of an hour and a half beating the shit outta it with a chisel and hammer and its not moving at all tho the first one came out first hit. doing my head in lol. the gearbox is outta the car but trying to knock it out this way just isnt working.cheers shaun Quote Link to post Share on other sites

rorenapier Posted December 11, 2012 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Sounds like an issue i had.By the sounds of it the circlip on the end of the shaft has been bent out of shape when putting it in.I had 8 ton on mine and it still didnt move... Ended up cutting the pot off, stripped the gearbox to get the Quaife out, stripped the Quaife down, and machined out the rest of the shaft that was still stuck in there.Pain in the arse.
