Matt1878
Looking at some new wheels in the future....What would be required for 15" 8.25J ET0 to fit?The car is lowered around 40-45mm currently.. What tyre size/profile would be best with minimal or if possible no stretching ..Cheers guys
Beastmode panda
You could do it on some hard suspension coilovers, but it'd look shit. You'll never be able to get the camber right to pull it off on a starlet, even if you have your arches rolled. Maybe some big ass wide arch kit then they might fit lol. But i wouldn't bother trying to stance a starlet, i've seen a couple and they look terrible, simply cause you're so limited. IMO, of course.
Matt1878
the wheels are very similar to those on the Japanese Glanza thread Corey started... They look mega on that ..Just unsure how much work is needed... I'm not into all that dub/stance bull...
Beastmode panda
Yeah. 8.25 is quiteeee a lot, i'm guessing it's the xxr 527's as they're the only wheel i know that come in 8.25 lol. why not go for the 7j or 7.5j (cant remember) ones?
Matt1878
Indeed I might have to do that ... Would they fit better? Even with ET0?
Beastmode panda
Thought so ;), awsome wheels they are! Yeah that will work i should imagine dude, just get your arched rolled proper and nicely. Get all those tabs out of the way and you should be ok. My volks are 15x7, unsure of et but im running 205/55 r888's and they DID rub on the fronts untill i rolled the front arches. The rears clear comfortably JUST!
Matt1878
Comfortably, JUST - now I like that haha!I found them for around £400 in the size 8.25 but can't find them in 7j anywhere... No prices on the XXR site
Beastmode panda
Hahaha . Sheesh that's a good price man! Hm, i'll try have a look too for you dude.
Matt1878
I found some at 16" 7 ET25... There the XXR 522, mega hot! They should be a straight fit shouldn't they?Or do I still need rolling?
Beastmode panda
SHOULD be ok, but tricky to judge! If you run the right tyre they should be alright man. Maybe you would have to think about getting the fronts done due to the weight of the engine crashing down every time you go over a bump. Have you got coilies? As they would stop the car from sinking more when you hit a bump.
Matt1878
Nope.. Standard setup other than some tein lowering springs at 40-45mm.. I ran rota GT3 16" 7J ET40 with 195/45/16 tyres..They were well clear really
Simon
16x7 ET25 will require an are roll with coilovers and panhard rod.I ran 16x7 ET30 with 195/45/16 and they needed an arch roll.
Beastmode panda
Sweet man! Well why not get the wheels and tyres you want first, trial fit them, then get the arches done if needs be! .
Matt1878
Ah shit ... I definitely can't afford coilovers yet! :/ ... Would love these to fit too
Simon
Depends on how stiff your springs are really Matt they might be ok with them
Josh@TunerLifestyle
Anything above 15x7 et 20 will need arch work put it that way! Not an easy route to go lol
Matt1878
Hmm.. Might have to see if they do them in 15" 7 ET30 ... even 15" 7J ET25 ? That should be alright yeah? Edited January 21, 2013 by Matt1878
