Liam_D Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Mine kicks out a poof of black smoke from time to time ive always put that down to over fuelling as i know its running slightly rich. Mine also smoke quite a bit when at a standstill but thats only like condensation never smokes when driving though. If you need any help regarding turbos mate give me a shout! Quote
starletburkie Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 plugs look good tho, i wouldnt worry too much if its not burning oil or loosing water Quote
morgey Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 The cold weather will kill you mpg, every year my corolla's mpg plummets to low 30's atm its at 28 :/ shocking but give it a few more weeks and that will be back up to mid to high 30's Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Thanks liam ill keep that in mind just done a compression test and got 165psi on cylinders 1 & 4 and 170psi on 2 & 3 so my engine is sound out my mind at rest I'm just gong to drive it see how things go Quote
lukEp Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Common fault engine to ecu water temp sensor, telling the ecu the engine still cold and making it over fuel. Green 2 wire sensor on the thermostat housing. Cost about £10 @ local motor factors. Quote
Turbo Goose Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I'm pretty sure ALL jap cars condensate in the exhausts as they are always puffin out white smoke. As for your colour of smoke, it looks like your burning some oil somewhere Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Most probably the turbo seals I'm hoping ill change that sensor aswell Quote
