Jordk
Ny Glanza I run daily has had a slight idle problem as of recent. Ive been through all the basics (vacuum leaks, leads etc) but can't find the issue. It idles at around 2k on cold. Then slowly drops to about 1250-1500 but when I rev it'll sit at 1750 for a few seconds then slowly climb down to 1500. I changed the Idle control valve for a spare clean one I had lying around but still notice improvement. Possible sticky throttle body? Anyone had a similar problem? A L 3 X
Have you fitted a new engine mate, could be vac lines on wrong if so as iiirc your engine failed recently or am I thinking of the wrong person?Try adjust the idle screw?
Jordk
This is a different car dude but yeah It's me you're thinking of haha. It's becoming a long project. Can't seem to see an idle screw on the side of the throttle body? Or is it the nut and grub screw below the throttle cable pulley?
Beastmode panda
Check the butterfly in the throttle bodie mate, clean it out properly and make sure it's fully clean, could be the butterfly sticking. Mine used to do it before i cleaned it out properly.
A L 3 X
It's on top of the throttle body usually under a black grommet, think u need to put it in diag to set it
Jordk
If I remove the throttle body to clean it will I not need a new gasket? Or just stick some hylomar on it to seal it? I'll have a look for the idle screw too
Jordk
Is it this rusty screw at top of picture here?

Jordk
Awesome shall have a play and see. If not the throttle body will be coming off
Beastmode panda
Don't take off the throttle body then! Haha . Just get some carb cleaner in there, take off the throttle cable so you can twist the butterfly and get in there with a cloth and some spray.
daniel_g
by the way, worthwhile putting a new TB to inlet gasket in if this doesn't fix it. If its leaking it will increase the idle, and it'll be hunting. They are like 4 quid.
Jordk
Adjusted screw and seems to be better now! Although on start up it revs high and takes a minute to start dropping (slowly). Also when I dip the clutch coming to a junction or stopping the revs rise then drop?
Dave D Glanza V
I have exactly the same problem
