Can't figure out what it is because the car was running perfectly and didn't give a spot of bother,he said hes inspected the engine and can find nothing out of the ordinary.Any help would be appreciated! turbo Grant Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Bit weird. Starlet engine or some thing else? Quote
morgey Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 It almost looks like a spring/valve retainer from the head. Hard to tell as im on my phone. But how that would get in the sump is something else! Quote
kingo228 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 looks like something out of the valve train, valve guide?, looks to big to be a starlet retainer :/ Quote
Rob H@RCH Engineering Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Thats a spring retainer for sure but where are the collets?? only thing I can think of it was dropped in last time the engine was stripped but how the hell do ya miss one of them?? Quote
AdamB Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Deffo looks like a retainer. How it made its way down to the sump I don't know lol. Quote
Ronan S Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Came out of a 4efte!!think its a part thats attached to the back of the turbo oil drain port!bottom line, second in from the left! Quote
Rob H@RCH Engineering Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 It could be but that looks a lot heavier around the narrow bit than the bit you have found. I still think valve retainer but I could be wrong! it should not have been there what ever lol Quote
keirz Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 does look a little like the turbo thrust collar, it could easily get to the sump if it is that too so makes a bit more sense Quote
