Hi all,

Cambelt has snapped on my car, what is the likelyhood that it has messed up the engine?

Also I cannot seem to find a defintive answer on if the engine is a interface or non-interface... just alot of speculation...

Any help would be great

Cheers

if its a turbo engine (4efte) they are non interferance engines so your valves and pistons will be fine.

Cheers for replies guys... I have no idea on the skims... Car is pretty much standard not that it means anything. Do you think it would be worth the gamble on replacing the belt hoping that the engine is ok?

by the way yea its turbo engine.

Haha good point!

No idea if the head gasket has ever been done... got no history on the car... mileage is about 167,000 km, not that it means anything once again.

Think I may try and get the belt replaced then

Thanks for the help guys

You'll soon know if anything has happened. Put a new belt on, time it up and rotate the engine, if you don't hear no funny noises then happy days :D
