1990timeismoney
Hi all plugged my hrf ecu in today and the resister went so I switched it straight of will it be ok to try it again or is it a easy fix.Luke
turbo Grant
That don't look good! I wouldn't try it again like that. I take it this didn't happen when the stock ecu was plugged in as well?
1990timeismoney
No mate unplugged the old ecu put the new harness in then plugged the ecu I am having the harness checked its wired correct. Will this still be ok if I can get tje resister changed.
daniel_g
Id say thats end game tbh. Is it a HFR P&P or the HRF Power FC ?
AdamB
You might be ok if you change the resistor. Although finding out what resistance it should be is going to be tricky lol.
TurboTobz
I wouldn't hold much hope if your gonna try and fix it pay some one who's a skilled electronics engineer not just some domestic sparky take it to a shop If I were you Edited July 30, 2013 by TurboTobz
1990timeismoney
Yeah its a plug and play ecu.Spoke to a avionics electrician and there going to fit a new resister they seem to think it should be ok I hope so been wanting to use this ecu for a while
daniel_g
Is this the same one that was supposedly MK1 specific and a few wires had to be swapped about to run it ? Hope it can be saved

Although finding out what resistance it should be is going to be tricky lol.Did you not see the picture in the first post haha Edit lol miss read. Just need to hope it's the same resistance as a stock ecu Got to give changing the resistor a go, see if it does the trick. Just home the pcb tracks ok. And defo get the harness double checked Edited July 30, 2013 by turbo Grant
daniel_g
Yeah the failure is pretty obvious lol.

AdamB
I would wait till its repaired, Have no idea what that resistor is for on the PCB but it could well be something important.
