Big_T-SR Posted October 5, 2007 Share Posted October 5, 2007 Hey guys, i need some advice on the 4AGE blacktop 20v engine to go into my EP91.I have been told by fensport that the driveshafts of the Starlet is different to other toyotas... this means that if i were to put this engine into my EP, i would need to get some custom driveshafts.My questions are the basics like do you know of anyone that has done it before that i could ask, i've asked on the austarlet club, but no reply currently.. Guest Enzo Posted October 9, 2007 Share Posted October 9, 2007 yea, i dont actualy think its been done over here yet,crazystarlet on the site is considering doing it at the moment. hes of the view of getting a mk1 mr2 with the blue top 16valve 4age and use that as a conversion poiont but is undecided at the moment weather or not to go balls out with a silver or black top 20 valvei dont think its been done over here yet,but jamaica and australia aswell as the states in the tercel which shares the same chassis as the starletyour best bet would be to look on tercelonline.com and doing a few serches on there as this conversion has been done many a time so they will be best to advise you on what parts you need to acumilate Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I'll look into that Fensport have given me a number of a guy up north whos done this conversion, so ill speak to him aswell. morgey Posted October 13, 2007 Share Posted October 13, 2007 im so close to starting a 16v 4age conversion i js need a run around which is currently being repaired i have measured it up and it looks to me as if i mite have to take some of the passengers side chassis member out becoz the engines nearly 2" wider and driveshafts will prob be bodged until i am happy with the engine running sweet, Quote Link to post Share on other sites

He put a 3sgte engine into a starlet and he was jus talking me through what he did. I think my mechanic has a way round the driveshafts but we shall see. I should be ordering the engine on monday (tomorrow) but they say its something like 2 weeks delivery atm because they quite busy with gearboxes n stuff... I shall inform you of any progress in the extreme ep rides section when there is news.Austarletclub hasnt replied tho di low. ;) Ive had 36 views but no replies.. o well, now is the time to begin. I sent one person a direct message he's called 4agze or somthing like that, but no reply yet, but i think ive found out enough now. But he said mine should be easier as its a smaller engine and i dont have a turbo to worry about lol. The 4agze is possible, its been done, jus recieved an email from a guy from the aussie forum that i directly emailed, he's done it and has a site.http://www.freewebs.com/4agze/index.htmI was considering the supercharged version before, but i decided not to go for it. The only difference in the power is the supercharger delivers much more torque, but with such a light and small car, your more likely to get alot of wheelspin at the start, thats what turned me away, but its all up to you man. You will not get it in there without cutting. In the meantime you can try asking on the aussie site or wait for a friendly reply here.But from what i hear, the gearbox may not fit the starlet bell housing or somthing like that... i hope somone can elaborate on that or correct me if im wrong.T Quote Link to post Share on other sites
