decky-320d Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Ok I got my glanza as a rolling shell but came with a turbo, the turbo just says Toyota on it nothing else so is it just a standard turbo ?? And can someone show me what pipes go where just so I know I'm defo right but from what I can see its idiot proof lolCheers guys Edited August 20, 2013 by decky-320d Quote
mech5107 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 If it is a 4bolt flange to the manifold and not a bolted on flange on the compressor exit, then it is probably the diesel turbo, good upgrade over standar. Either possibility to be a hybrid... Post some pics... Quote
H_D Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 if it only says toyota on it then its more than likely a CT9B the CT9A turbo will say CT9 on the compressor housing. Quote
decky-320d Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Is there much of a difference ? Quote
Addymk2 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 CT9B spools quicker, has extra fins and was initially designed to provide additional low end torque to counter the weight of the Glanza over the GT Quote
mikey4410 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Wow i didnt know the above..very interesting. Quote
RobSR Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) A CT9B only has one extra fin on the turbine wheel. thats about it. most people seem to say it makes squat all difference when swapped over. Edited August 20, 2013 by RobSR Quote
H_D Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 If you have tried both of them u will notice a difference,The ct9b does feel more responsive at lower revs and it also sounds different to the ct9a when spooling up. Quote
Ryan_EP82 GT Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I've only have the ct9a and ct9b turbos fitted, and found more torque out of the ct9b without a doubt! Ct9a felt like it flowed faster somehow tho :/ duno how to explain it lol Quote
