JamesD89
Just wondered if anyone has any experience with the automatic box on the ep82 and what it can comfortably cope with I don't want to convert it as it would be easier to buy a manual but is there any point with engine mods if not I will put effort into making it show worthy as the body is tidy
Glanza-Ben
Iamlegend ran 287bhp iirc on a auto box Glanza and it loved it and took all the power
AdamB
Problem comes when they do break and your stuck trying to find a new gearbox!
Barnz74
Sorry to drag the old post up I was thinking the same re power.I have an auto GT dyno'd @ 175 and it's fine. Goes like stink, std CT9 with FMIC. Also as I'm disabled the auto is why I bought a GT. MR2 turbos aren't auto and tax is cheap!Wonder what a TD05 or Garrett would do to an auto?? There are a few auto boxes on ebay that I have seen for when I break mine. Anyone know what the highest bhp is for an auto on here? 287 is a fair bit. JamesD89
mike@td told me they have run td04@270 fine i wouldn't wanna take mine that far really may as well buy a manual for the money you would spend and the heartache if u did kill it

AdamB
Its not HP that will kill it, its torque which will destroy the torque converter.See no reason why you couldn't make 280 ft/lbs. Edited January 18, 2014 by AdamB
Stu
It would be interesting to see if an uprated torque converter could be fitted. Imagine a nice high stall and transbrake for awesome launches. Would recommend a big trans fluid cooler to help with longevity
