Taggy
My idle control valve is doing my head in, its making this really anoying "bipping" sound, i noticed when i unplug the valve it stops. I also noticed it seems to make no difference to the idle of my car, which leads me to ask if i actually need it?

RobSR
My motto is if it runs fine without it, get rid of it. especially if your putting the car on a diet!

mikey4410
hmm, there easy to clean out whilst being careful. and easy to pop back together, never had an issue rebuilding them (done 3) and they always make a difference when cleaned out. would wait and see what others say before you remove the unit
JayJ
I changed my ICV and high idle problems have been gone since. Valve was leaking all the time, because the copper thing was totally gone.http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/69586-high-idle/?p=893270 Edit: also tried to block off the valve, but car was too jerky to drive as the idle dropped too much in some occasions with auxiliaries.
