Fogdoggydog Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 After starting a job which requires a 70 mile round trip each day it was time to retire the YRV for something a bit more capable of the daily commute. A disease-l would have made sense, but I wanted something that felt a bit sporty to drive - so it had to be a petrol. And this is what I traded in the Daihatsu for...2006 Toyota Corolla SR 1.6 VVTiComplete with multispoke alloys, front splitter, skirts, privacy glass and TTE spoiler.Nothing too heavy planned on the mod side of things. Breathing and exhaust, wheels, suspension and interior will prob be the extent of it, but this isn't likely to get underway for a while yet due to finances - I've just bought a car you know!! Quote
SiCaln Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 really like it man smart colour too, hope it fulfills all your needs bud Quote

shelly_star Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Nice Balearic metallic blue color With 110bhp i believe? Quote
Fogdoggydog Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 Hit the nail on the head there Shelly!Balearic Blue.110Bhp, 110 Torques. It marginally faster than my old car (10-15bhp more, but some 300kg heavier), but the extra torque it has makes it feel a good bit quicker and it picks up well from lower revs. Overall a lot easier to drive faster. Plus it handles a lot better. Overall very pleased with it.Thanks for the kind words! Quote
Guest Enzo Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 is it a six speed? do you have any pictures of the instriment binacle bud? Quote
Fogdoggydog Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 It's a 5-speed.More pictures to follow when I have the Internet up and running again in the house. Quote

Bluebear Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 So that isn't an actual T-Sport then? the VVTi-L? Still, a stunning colour! Quote
ecksjay Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 nice colour.a mate has just bought a t-sport compressor, will get a ride in it soon.agree with sparky though, i do like 70miles a day on my 200sx and i'm looking for a wanky little petrol (1.0 micra etc) or a wanky old diesel estate/van (escort, mondy, 306, astra etc) as the petrol is destroying my bank balance, plus sod comfort, im usually half asleep anyways Quote
Sparky Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Your SX should keep you awake and on your toes Ecks Quote

Fogdoggydog Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 So that isn't an actual T-Sport then? the VVTi-L? Still, a stunning colour!Unfortunatley not. The insurance i'm paying for this one is steep enough as it is.nice colour.a mate has just bought a t-sport compressor, will get a ride in it soon.agree with sparky though, i do like 70miles a day on my 200sx and i'm looking for a wanky little petrol (1.0 micra etc) or a wanky old diesel estate/van (escort, mondy, 306, astra etc) as the petrol is destroying my bank balance, plus sod comfort, im usually half asleep anyways I'd love a T-Sport Compressor! I really love my car and 200+bhp would be great in it. Because my insurance is so much (only 1 year ncb, and living in a 'high-risk area') I can't afford to pay for two policys and do the car-for-the-commute-car-for-the-weekend thing, so I went for the almost-new-warrantied-good-looking-sensible-commuter-car thing. Thanks for all the nice comments people.
