Zeldoz Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 So, I loosened the hex's until the point they was spinning freely and loosely.Tugged on the air vag and nothing. It felt like something still had hold of it somehow! There wasn't any other screws or hex's I could undo that would help to remove it? Need some assistance to you 98 spec boys who removed the wheel! daniel_g Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Turn the wheel 90* and gravity will help the bolt out, use a magnet, pry like fuck with a flat head screwdriver. Then same for the other bolt. Quote
Zeldoz Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 The acrew isn't meant to come out I believe there sprung to hold them in.http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/49722-steering-wheel-removal-and-boss-kit/Wrong spec I've seen that already Quote

daniel_g Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Had troubles like this in the past with cars in work, the bolts dont come all the way out thats right, but the last few threads that are ment to come out can get stuck, you just need to persuade them to come out a bit more. Using the magnet/gravity/pry methods. Quote
Zeldoz Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 I'll give it a go tomorrow. Difficult to be gentle an tough without breaking it as I wanna sell it Quote
daniel_g Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Theres always a way buddy, i have a set of trim tools which has saved many dashbords, centre consoles etc from being marked.Or wrap a bit of a rag around the end of a screwdriver. Quote
dangeestarlet Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) I removed mine yesterday and on the one side where there is a square bit you gotta take off to get to the bolts there's one that looks like the other side and there's another tucked up hiding Just incase you have been undoing the wrong one lol Edited January 14, 2014 by dangeestarlet Quote
Zeldoz Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 98 Spec doesn't have the cover. The only two visable and obvious hex's unscrew. But they stay lightly in there as if you replace the bag it can be done up. Tugged and tugged to no avail. Someone must of removed one before lol! Quote
ryan lang Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 ive removed one but cant even remember doing it because ive done a load of 96 specs haha Quote
