gear box dismantle

Brought 2nd hand lsd box from a lad on tgtt

My mate has just started stripping it. And 5th gear will come off the shaft.

He's removed the circlips and got his gear puller on it but still not moving..

anyone had this problem before and got a solution?

Any help will b much appriciated.

Which kind of puller is he using? The arm type ones?

My mate made a wedge type gear separator. 2 tapered plates with tube on either end and bolts going through then you just do the bolts up and it pulls together and lifts the gear off the shaft.

They are very tight and can snap

Think mine was 50 from toyota split in half way well stuck on

I snapped a few teeth of 5th before lol.

Im not sure what puller he is using as i havent been down to see it yet.

He stoppes in at my work earlia just to let me know.

Said he gunna try abit of heat on monday..

Theres also a small chip on the tooth is that gunna cause problems if he does get it off

Aint to bad then. I deal with toyota through work so get stuff at trade price plus discount..
