Browner
Hi lads,Basically cut a long story short I had the RWD GT Turbo out drag racing on Sunday and snapped the passenger side rear half shaft. Toyota being Toyota, a lot of parts are interchangeable between models. Surely the half shafts are the same as something else? Does anyone know if they will interchange with anything? It's going to be very hard to find a half shaft for one. I am going to try buying new from Toyota today... You never know!Regards,Conor.
daniel_g
Ahh man thats shit, i guess that a few Toyotas from that era will have the same setup, all the 4wd corollas and that kinda stuff. EL55 E103 kinda models, although most of them were Jap only like the EP85s.EP95 stuff might still be available from Toyota, guessing its the same ?

Browner
Yes it looks to be correct. I haven't taken the broken shaft out yet it will probably be a pig to remove. I stripped down the hub and jacked up the car to listen while I turned the wheel and you can hear the broken shaft about 8" inside the wheel. They are a live axle very similar to the AE86

Browner
I took the passenger half shaft out and as I suspected it was broke. Done a nice job of it!I took the one out of my red ep85 for the time being. Now my question lads. I went to Toyota with my ep85 vin number and they said the shaft was discontinued... BUT they said the ABS shaft is still available. Will this fit if I knock the ABS ring off? I take it the ABS half shaft is out of the later ep95 are these interchangeable?Need to get this baby sorted pronto for Japfest UK!Conor.
