Manny Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 hi guys, as above which brake pads would you go for? Quote
MARC MOSS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Neither ferodo ds2500 all the way for me... What do you need them for?? Track or just bombin about the streets dude?? Quote
white-gt Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 mate mintex m1144 are great pads, cheaper than ferodo and great for fast road setup, not ideal for hard track use though, ive just replaced my ebc pads with them. Quote
Jamie5414 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Mintex are shit. Get ds2500's. Once you get them you wont buy any other pads for fast road Quote
Keri-WMS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I have to say that people who've tried DS2500 don't seem to use other pads after that.......bit more expensive, but not beyond reason! Quote
jayc-glanza17 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 cant wait to try mine out keri..had them on an old cossie and took a thrashing at brands.. Quote
Keri-WMS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 "thrashing an old Cossie at Bands" = those words are full of win! Quote
Gainzy Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Depends on power I suppose would probably go brembo, mintex seem not as out going as in terms of performance cars Quote
Keri-WMS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Don't forget that all the big brake pad mfrs have a "road" range that is probably 99% of their sales to the general public, and a "race" range. You can't make any meaningful comparisons between the two types! I think Ferodo have a half-way range, the "DS Performance" ones, I don't know much about them though. Quote
Manny Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) just wanted to know what are best from them two. normal day to day use, only driving a n/a untuned. Edited March 26, 2014 by Manny Quote
Keri-WMS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I wouldn't have much of an idea in terms of picking normal road pads where brake dust / wear life and that kind of thing are probably the things most people are interested in. Quote
MARC MOSS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I'd go for the brembo ones then I like the name lol Quote
Manny Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 i don't think youll be able to see brembo on the pads unless they are taken off lol Quote
Keri-WMS Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Not sure that pads are enough to justify a door sticker either! Quote
mikey4410 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 brembo ds2500s are fecking unreal would go with them for sure. with r888s they will genuinely hurt when u brake hard on track and make your lungs fall of Quote
