Okay. So I picked th car up today. It threw an EML on the dyno. And the mapper was hearing a rattle through the det cans. It's code 52 open or short circuit for knock sensor. Never had this issue Untill they installed the ecu, so am I right in saying either the sensor gave up, or the wiring was damaged during the ecu install. And would this be a likely cause of the noise? Pulling timing etc

Probably inlet cam tension or shims then if its 100% from the head.

As for the code 52, i take it they spliced into the knock sensor wiring when fitting the ECU?

I would assume they spliced into it, it was fine for 2000 miles before mapping, going to change the sensor and check continuity on the wire and see where I'm at

Right so tonight I changed the knock sensor. That issue sorted. Checked the valve clearances, also all good. And tensioned the inlet cam gears, I can assume that was the rattle. Everything seems okay.

Had a trip to Hertford yesterday and Picked up an uprated actuator and some ns2r's from Charlie.

So all I need now is a half rad. Then go back for a map tweak :)

Got them tyres fitted and enjoyed the car for the first time properly. Booked back in for a map tweak on the 7th. All I need now is to find a half rad.

Small update, had a few issues at mapping. Still had this top end rattle, stripped the car down only to find the head had 4efe valve springs and the valves where very poorly seated. Either way, fitted some tuning developments valve springs, reseated all the valves, and reshimmed. it may have had FE cams in it so we swapped my old fte cams over. The car sounds and drives so much better. Going back in for mapping tomorrow and hopefully make some decent power. In fairness to the engine builder we sent the head off to a machine shop to be sorted, so just bolted it on when we got it back. This time all the work was done in house.

Also sent my td04 off to Liam at midland turbo to be rebuilt

Well I have learnt a lesson about buying second hand parts!

Here's a shot of the car after it was back on the road

Had to fit a new adjustable actuator, along with a triple core civic rad too

So I have driven the car to southern Spain for a holiday, drobe the car for two 14 hour sessions and it didn't miss a beat. Driving through the Spanish mountain reigon was an experience...so many tunnels! Here's a few pics so far

Made it back with not one reported issue 3200 miles in total. Had a cracker of a drive through France, as bumped into loads of cars on the way back from Le Mans.

This car always manages to surprise me how quick it is on the motorway l

Right I'm thinking about going lower, arches are rolled, but the tyres still scrub on the rear bumper bracket. Has anyone done anything to remedy this?
