Hello all

Wondering is anyone running a td04 20g,either on a 4e or 5e?

Would like to know your thoughts on lag, spool times etc.

Im looking at one of the blouch items with billet internals, not sure on ball bearing or journel as they have 2 types.

Thanks

There are a few people using them I think, spool isn't that bad but obviously no ct9 lol full boost by around 4k iirc and good for upto around 350 max.

Maybe on a 2litre Subaru but at 2 bar +, we're on 1.3 starlets with no where near there boost levels

im running a TD05 18G (billet wheel)

A lot of aftermarket turbo manufacturers don't offer compressor maps for their custom spec turbo's because it becomes easier for their competition to copy and try to better what they have already produced.

16G comp. wheel iirc is 48mm / 68mm

18G comp. wheel is 50mm / 68mm

20G comp. wheel is 52mm / 68mm

Inducer/Exducer

Don't hold me to that tho haha.

Well no a 20G will have more than an 18 and 16G.

The billet wheel'd equivalents will be less laggy due to lighter comp. wheels.

What GT28 were you looking at?

The problem being though if you switch to say a 20g you could end up shifting the restriction to the turbine side, so no matter how big you go on the comp wheel your going to gain very little power (due to the turbine side being restricted) and much more lag because of the extra mass of the comp wheel.

Thanks for everyones input so far.

Im torn between a td05 18/20g (as I already have a td series turbo kit) or a gt28/30 series turbo.

I thought about a td06 also,but its quite large!

Depends what power your after and what you want to use the car for.

I don't think the lag on a TD05-18G is bad atal and you can hit about 350.

GT28/30 depending on what spec is going to make you a lot more lol!

Bang for buck td series.

Ive done a little more research and 18g

Appears to be favored for street, track car

High revs its the 20g.

As you have a td turbo kit cheapest option

Is td05 18 or 20g.

What is car for? Track and occasional track use or street?
