Phil
Bought a caliper rebuild kit for my brake kit apparently st165 twin pot celica ones. This is the thread where I bought them from starbuck. Who bought them from shorty previous. Now firstly the reason I'm not doing this by private message or behind the scenes is simple,my lack of knowledge on the celica brake setups is completely my own fault and neither shorty nor starbuck have done anything wrong in all this.I'm just asking the masses and should anyone have any input it's very welcome.http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/79086-for-sale-toyota-starlet-celica-twinpot-brake-upgrade/?fromsearch=1Here's the pickle I bought a st165 rebuild kit and the seals for the carrier sliders are as per the right hand side of the pic below whereas they need to be asper the left (small seal that goes over the slider bolts and seals just between it and the caliper.Anyone any idea what seal kit I really need?Levin or different celica st version?Anyone with experience please shout already wasted 50quid on the seals that don't fit!Phil Edited May 14, 2014 by Philm
shorty
Is there a part number on the caliper mate? Kimber friction is a local brake specialist so if you can get me a part number i can email/call them to find out maybe. Could try euro car parts but they are a bit like halfords, some are great and helpful and some know fuck all about cars lol.

Im certain the right hand side of my pic above is the seal needed for the st165 twinpots from a celica (cause ive used these before) so what are the other models that use this twinpot? Levin of some age? Phil
turbo Grant
I got them calipers off eBay yonks ago. Ran them on my old GT for ages. I think they were listed as 94 celica calipers. I get confused with all the st### numbers lol
morgey
They might have done a couple of variants. A twin pot and single pot version?
Phil
They might have done a couple of variants. A twin pot and single pot version? they diff did both twin and single pots for the St165 celica. this however appears to be neither of those. Duncan on TGTT has came up with a super response, ill quote it over here incase anyone is ever lost and searching again! Phil Duncan ToyotaGTTurbo.com the seals look ok to me. the longer seal is for the slider that bolts straight through and the smaller seal is the one that pops onto the caliper and the pin slider slides into it. is that pin broken? I cant see the threaded part that allows you to fit them to the carrier? EDIT: sorry, just looked at the uksc forsale thread. they are not st165 calipers I am afraid. they look like Levin twin pots.chances are the clips and the pads you have bought wont fit either part numbes for these are: rebuild kit: 04479-12140 or 04479-12170 - cant read Japanese so not sure of the difference, think 95-97 model!? clips: 04947-32080 or 04947-33020 - same as above. pads: look to be something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EBC-FRONT-ULTIMAX-BRAKE-PADS-TOYOTA-LEVIN-1-6-SUPERCHARGED-AE101-1991-1995-DP-/310432712320?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item48473b4680 I think I may randomly have the clips for a set of these calipers as a mate had a set he was going to chuck out. when I get a chance I will have a quick look and see if I still have them.
