aaddzz123
Hi guys!I'm looking into possibly getting another GT some point soon and was curious to what power the standard head bolts can take, and when it'd be suggested to upgrade to APR bolts?I was thinking of doing a cheap 1.4 bar td04 270bhp build... shorty
If they are proper toyota head bolts they will hold 250/280+ but there is a possibility of head lift from a boost spikes. Arp are always a better/safer bet but if its a budget boost build go toyota and if it fails change for arp's.
gorganl2000
genuine toyota head bolts are a real wonder and hard to call, some guys run 20/22psi on them with now problems with td04L/td05 sized turbosknow of 1 car that ran 28psi on a gt28know of another running 30psi on a proper td05 yet some guys report to get head lift at those same boost levels as shorty said, for safety maybe arp are the better bet, especially if you plan to trash it everyday at high boost
Chief Quimby
I use standard 5e headbolts on my 5efte, running 33 psi with my GT3071
