Sandham Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hi, my car has developed a tendancie to have a very low idle sometimes hunting untill a stall and when it does it it takes a few goes to start again..Ive ruled air leaks out as the car wont do it all the time and sometimes goes days without doing it, spec is a td04 ewg wepr kit. Sard fpr set at standard pressure, catch can, trd leads, new dizzy and rotor arm, civic rad and a fmic Quote
Sandham Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 So just whip it off and give it a clean? Theres a guide on here or tgtt somewhere so i shall get on with it now Quote
Sandham Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 The idle has raised and does seem more flat and stable, will see how she goes.. Thanks Quote
Sandham Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 Has started to hunt again and will stall every now and again... Any other common causes i was thinking maybe lambda?? Quote
5e colin Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 no probly the wax valve under the throttle body it works in conjunction with the idler valve !!! Quote
mikey4410 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 -strip and fully clean the shit out of the icv as the pcv lets crap through which blocks it-get rid of the crappy pcv valve, block it inlet side and route to free air on rocker side-remove throttle body and clean it out as they get very crappy again from pcv etc-setup your tps with the guide on tgtt.com-could even possibly block of wax stat like I did if you still have agro. Hope this helps Quote
Sandham Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 Ill give all this a go.. Would the pcv be ok routed to my catch can? Quote
Duduglanza Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 even check map sensor... i had a problem in the wiring and it did the same symptoms.. especially if u have an fcd. Quote
mikey4410 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 If a starlet engine is in good condition you dont need a catch can period, waste of time.just vent to air Quote
Sandham Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 Oh right, well i like the look of it tbh lol! It never has anything in it though! Quote
mikey4410 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Exactly, I have nothing other than an inch of rubber pipe just popping out of the two cam cover holes.any oil coming out of them indicates a piston is down on compression. Catch cans do NOTHING. Quote
Sandham Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 Ok no worries bud ill do the stuff you suggested this weekend Quote
Sandham Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Tried blocking my pcv at inlet side and leaving to atmosphere engine side and my car wouldnt idle at all?Just need to try clean my throttle body and set my tps up? Quote
