Sandham
Hi, my car has developed a tendancie to have a very low idle sometimes hunting untill a stall and when it does it it takes a few goes to start again..Ive ruled air leaks out as the car wont do it all the time and sometimes goes days without doing it, spec is a td04 ewg wepr kit. Sard fpr set at standard pressure, catch can, trd leads, new dizzy and rotor arm, civic rad and a fmic

Sandham
So just whip it off and give it a clean? Theres a guide on here or tgtt somewhere so i shall get on with it now

Sandham
Has started to hunt again and will stall every now and again... Any other common causes i was thinking maybe lambda??
5e colin
no probly the wax valve under the throttle body it works in conjunction with the idler valve !!!
mikey4410
-strip and fully clean the shit out of the icv as the pcv lets crap through which blocks it-get rid of the crappy pcv valve, block it inlet side and route to free air on rocker side-remove throttle body and clean it out as they get very crappy again from pcv etc-setup your tps with the guide on tgtt.com-could even possibly block of wax stat like I did if you still have agro. Hope this helps
Sandham
Ill give all this a go.. Would the pcv be ok routed to my catch can?
Duduglanza
even check map sensor... i had a problem in the wiring and it did the same symptoms.. especially if u have an fcd.
mikey4410
If a starlet engine is in good condition you dont need a catch can period, waste of time.just vent to air
Sandham
Oh right, well i like the look of it tbh lol! It never has anything in it though!
mikey4410
Exactly, I have nothing other than an inch of rubber pipe just popping out of the two cam cover holes.any oil coming out of them indicates a piston is down on compression. Catch cans do NOTHING.
Sandham
Ok no worries bud ill do the stuff you suggested this weekend
