Recommended Posts

Hi lads can anyone help a just bought a forged 4e engine that's only done 3k miles the engine was built a year ago by tuning developments basically a fitted the engine yesterday started the car up for the first time and the oil lights on and will not go off a gave it a little rev and the light went off for a few seconds then flashes on and off sometimes a know it's not the best thing to be running it how can you tell if the oil pumps fucked ?

The engine was out a ep82 so most sensors was different so a changed the oil pressure sensors from a old engine still didn't make a difference see if a take the king lead off and take the samco hose off the sump and turn it over if the oil doesn't come out fast does that mean the oil pumps fuced ?

Take the plugs out, disconnect the fuel pump and turn that sucker over to build some oil pressure or at least to see if the sensor is faulty. Starting it up without any oil pressure and revving it is asking for trouble!!

Is the car running smoothly? do you have an oilcooler.. if yea check that you didnt swap the out/in pipes from the sandwiscplate

yes mate the cars running smoothly it's just not building oil pressure and it's standard at the moment doesn't have a oil cooler

Think this was on the Facebook page. The "o" ring that's on the oil pick up pipe had split I believe. This caused the pump to suck air in instead of the oil. Good find and glad it's been repaired :)
