toyotatomes Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Not sure if this is the correct section for this so I apologise if it is not. I've noticed that whenever I am driving my water temp gauge is always quite low by the C. But as soon as I stop it will move to the middle like it is supposed to. Radiator fans kick in if it gets to hot like they should and get hot air from the heaters (could be hotter, set to 30°c and its warm not hot). Anyone seen this before? Or things to check should I be worried haha? Quote
Idrees Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 It sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. Ps. We have new ones for around £9 if you need one Quote
FMuscle Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Mine has always been low no matter what, I thought it might have been resistance in the wires, but it started working normally after I took the clocks appart... Quote

glanzadude Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Put the thermostat in a cup full off water and put in the microwave for 2 mins easy way to see is it working Quote
Ethanep82 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Put the thermostat in a cup full off water and put in the microwave for 2 mins easy way to see is it working I for some reason don't think it's a good idea putting a metal thermostat in a microwave... Quote

toyotatomes Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Ive opted out of the microwave and decided it was much safer to heat the thermostat up with a lit firework at my local petrol station! Ordered a new one from Id workz waiting for it to arrive Quote
EP91crazy Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Mines the same driving round normal it'll sit 1/4 of the way until give it the beans then it sits at normal and the fan will kick in... but if I don't boot it, it stays low unless sat idling Quote
