glanzatd04l220 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 bought a 5e engine the other night and the owner said it was a 5efe, just looking to know how do you tell the difference between the 5efe and 5efhe rods. heres some photos of the rods that came out of the engine. kevin Quote
glanzatd04l220 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 after doing a bit of resource these rods are the 1gen 5efe rods and are suppose to be the same as the 5efhe rods. kevin Quote
glanzatd04l220 Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 so these are the rods that can stand a right bit of boost? how much would they be worth? kevin Quote
FMuscle Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 They look exactly like my 1st gen rods... Quote
ramses Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 so these are the rods that can stand a right bit of boost? how much would they be worth? kevin Yes these rods are very reliable you can accept higher boost ... Quote
AdamB Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 so these are the rods that can stand a right bit of boost? how much would they be worth? kevin Price wise probably about £130 ish. Problem being is that if people are going 5E and they open up the engine they are more likely to forge rather than stick an OEM item in unless they are doing a budget build. Quote
5e colin Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 gen1 5efe and 5efhe rods are impossible to tel apart unles they come out of a unopened engine you will never know both will hold boooost its the same with gen1 4efe and 4efte rods there is no way to tell them apart neither price wise 120euros for a set of 5efhe rods aint bad Quote
glanzatd04l220 Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 if anyone is interested first £110 + postage gets the rods and pistons. kevin Quote
