decdd19 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Looking for a forged engine an was considering this one but has been lying up quite awhile... Opinions? http://cars.donedeal.ie/view/7580386 Quote
Turbo Goose Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 i was looking at this one as its on gumtree but tbh it just looks standard and dirty. if you were having an engine forged and its never been run surely it should be in mint condition? Quote
decdd19 Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 That's what I was thinking also no paperwork an unsure of parts used aswell Quote
Jamie_VF22 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I wouldnt even bother if there is no paper work to prove it And looking at the state of it looks stock would look brand new if its been forged Quote
_shaun_ Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I have one for sale and that's the main reason I've left the sump off so people can actauly double check its forged. Even taking just paperwork can be risky as I could just photo copy my receipt and sell 10 stock engines with it as they don't state engine codes. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 tbf, it doesn't really look 'dirty' just a bit weathered. But no paperwork and not being able to see it in person id leave it Quote
Charlie28 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Also worth taking the sump off and checking! Quote
karl. Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 That's based around 30 mins from some of us NI members. If somebody is actually very interested let some of us know and I'm sure we could go get a look at it for you. Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 No chance that's forged it's been for sale on gumtree for ever Quote
decdd19 Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Think he said the engine is up in East coast customs at the moment Quote
aidanep71 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 It's exactly what I would expect an engine to look like after sitting idle for six years if he is genuine and you are genuinely interested ask him to pull the sump off an get pictures Quote
