big big problem

I was out in the car today and it was workin fine but boostin like mad and very very happy then picked up a mate and the gt died and its missin like mad now and cant see for the life of me what it is .. can anyone help me theres a spark goin to the car too .. has me baffled when I go to 3rd gear it looses the small bit of power it has and itz not boostin either and not going past 60kmh

No nothing .. wont go past 3000 revs .. has me pist off as it happened on the way to my nct just 10mins before I was due in for a retest

did you blow gasket between 2 cylinders ????

i did that before sounded like subaru and same symptons

Cylinder leakage and compression test

do a comp check

can check that with a ordinary compression tester if compression is down between 2 cylinders then you know

ill pop to halfords and buy a compression test kit

how much am i lookin at if i do the work myself

think a comp tester is 30 euros daragh or local moterfacters will have it to if they sell tools

Oh I mean if its head gasket will it cost much .. dont have the time or tools to do it myself cause im workin in cork yano so itl be goin to mechanic

Could do the headgasket for £100, garage would be £2-300 at least

More money gone now ill send it off tomorrow and hopefully have it back friday

If you supply the parts to them it'll be cheaper. Theres a HG in the forsale section for 30 odd quid, headbolts are pretty cheap and so are timing belts which id replace whilst its off. Possibly a head skim 40 quid. Everything else should be ok. Then garage labour depending on where you go will be between 40 - 80 odd quid an hour at about 4 hours.
