Ticking noise

Hi, my glanza makes a loud ticking noise when idling from cold. It goes away once warmed up but continues to make it when i rev it up lightly. Any ideas what this could be?

cracked exhaust manifold is very possible

As above I had the same issue and the head had a crack in it around the manifold stud

Sounds like its coming from the speedo though. Cant really hear it from the outside, also drives and starts up fine.

Good info there my car was the same way but couldn't find the problem as the heat sheld was covering it

Different forums just saying its the injectors and not to worry. The noise is not coming from the manifold?

if you are running bigger injectors or aftermarket pistons.. then its normall..

No idea what injectors are in it but its definitly not the manifold

Standard noise, all both starlets o owned does it and so does my mates

Manifold leak usually a clicking type of noise when you Rev

Starlet injectors are known for making loud ticking noise, so dont stress to much but if your not 100% take a vid and try upload it and that might get better answers

ive got the same thing going on ever since the winter came its ticking loud and it seems to be getting louder and loudr or is this just me thinking it is geting louder ?

Starlet injectors sound very ticky. Even more do if they are bigger than standard.

Get yourself under the bonnet and have a real good listen about to try and eliminate manifold cracks etc

ill check the mani dude and the injectors are standard

Mines not coming from the mani, sounds like the top of the engine bay just accross from the idle control valve.
