pdg190
So this morning my glanza attacked the back of a Passat fitted with a monster tow bar. I'm choosing to blame the cold pads and not the moron trying to squeeze through the amber light. The Passat come away without a single mark so I don't think insurance needs to be involved if their just going to write my car off? Was wandering if anybody could offer any advice on the less obvious parts I'm going to need to fix it or wether they are all bolt on parts, or if the cost is going to be that high that I might as well go through insurance? Thanks
Vturbo
I'm no body work expert, but that looks like a new crash bar and bumper. Bonnet don't look bad.Maybe a few other bits Like a new radiator if it's damaged. I wouldn't go through insurance if it's not needed. more pics would do nicely, maybe AC radiator too Edited July 18, 2015 by Vturbo

pdg190
On closer inspection it's damaged the bumper, bonnet, head lamps, one indicator, rad, fan and horn. Not to sound like an idiot, but the crash bars the lower bar that's bent? Edited July 18, 2015 by pdg190
pdg190
So all the front is bolt on?
morgey
The slam panel is spot welded in i believe thats the bit with the bonnet catch. The bar thats pierced your rad is the bumper support/crash bar that bolts on.
Ollieh17
I have a bumper suppor/crash bar available mate let me know if you are after one

fordie_glanzaV
Looks all bolt on parts apart from slam panel as mentioned is spot welded.Aslong as lower cross member and chassis legs are ok which i reckon they are, ull be ok.. Bonnet hinges always weak point too if u have troubles re-aligning bonnet.
pdg190
So after having a proper look I think the only places I'm going to have an issue are where the crash bar bolts on, drivers sides not too bad but passenger sides a bit of a mess. Been belting it for ages and I can't get it to move, maybe get a torch on it?? It has split the metal, but only by 10mm at the side. Been desperately working away to get it half presentable to run over to trax tomorrow, got everything as close as it's going to be without new parts only to find when I ran it up to temp my rear rad fan is fouling the metal cover. Out of light, out of patience. Thanks for the help so far.
Ollieh17
Coulda bought you a crash bar to trax mate!
pdg190
Nuts!!! Didn't think to ask if anyone was going that had parts. Will get in touch if I can't find something being broke locally with all the parts I need. Really appreciate the offer. Would have been at least one thing off my shopping list. Anyone know if the slam panel and crash bars are same on N/A?
morgey
Slam panel is, not sure on crash bar, they might be bumper specific so might need a 96 spec glanza one but dont quote me on that. Try jdm-ep in the traders section. They should have most of what you need
