matthew ep91
150 140 150 150 is that ok ??
matthew ep91
Without wide open throttle . Just by turning engine over
5e colin
ya ok ish on the 3 but the 140 is right on the limit of rebuild time engine wont last very long before it wil need rebuild thats just my 2c
Matt1878
It's fairly even which is good. Would benefit from a rebuild as Colin has said. I'm guessing the engine may have done a fair few miles?
Ollieh17
Shouldn't it be done with WOT?
matthew ep91
Yea what differnce does it make wide open throttle ? Around 85k miles
Matt1878
Shouldn't it be done with WOT?Yes it should.. I read it wrong.. I thought it said done on WOT.
matthew ep91
Would it read high or low by not doing wide open throttle ?
Matt1878
You will have a low reading.. Your readings will be higher on WOT.
Ollieh17
Slightly higher on WOT, was the engine warm?
Matt1878
It's mainly down to consistency over the four cylinders however a reading around 140 140 140 140 I would advise a rebuild. However a reading along the lines of 170 170 170 170 WOT would be great.
matthew ep91
The engine was warm
matthew ep91
What use reckon then lads ? Still pulls like a train
Matt1878
What use reckon then lads ? Still pulls like a trainWithout WOT that's not too bad... I'd do it again at WOT when the engine is warm though for peace of mind

Matt1878
Ive seen people saying them results with throttle closed is ok tho ?? yeah they are mate ... its just supposed to be done at WOT with engine warm for true reading. Not saying there bad,,, They would be if the test was done at WOT when warm
matthew ep91
U reckon b grand then mate ? Lol
Matt1878
U reckon b grand then mate ? Lol Yeah, should be fine.
H_D
if you want a proper reading do it again and WOT warm engine and all spark plugs out.that's the proper way.
Flaminsam
You are mainly looking for a difference In pressure across all four cylinders. A pressure difference of 1 bar between the highest reading and the lowest reading would be your maximum. (Around 15psi) any more than that and it would be definite rebuild time. As Matt has said 140psi across all four is not bad with it being even. But you may find sooner or later you will have excessive blow by and need a rebuild. Healthy engines see around the 180psi mark. matthew ep91
Is it an ok reading for no wot ?
H_D
I don't go by closed throttle figures so those numbers don't mean nothing to me.best to do a proper test to know how healthy your engine REALLY is.
