OBD port location

wondering if a 1999 EP91 starlet has a OBD port? had a look but couldnt see one

No we have a diagnostics box in the engine bay you use a paper clip to do a blink test

but you cant tune through it im guessing? was looking into OBD tuning as one of the guys at work has had it done on his Megane sport and made some good gains in power and economy etc just wondered if it was do able or not

No mate can't tune through it.

shame, ah well, dont think its possible to wire one in either if it doesnt have it programmed into the ecu already??

Toyotas ecus arent tunable. You need a piggy back like an emanage blue to do the same as your mate.

ah fair enough, thought thats why id heard alot more about piggy back ecus rather than tuning the standard one. what sort of money and tunablity is there for a piggy back ecu like emanage blue?

On newer cars yes OBD tuning can work well.

But starlets are too old to have OBD. That wasnt mandatory until 2001 for petrol and 2003 for diesel.

You'd gain very little on a NA through any ECU tuning anyway, so it's really not a big loss at all.

just wanted it to finish the car off in terms of mods and bringing it all together at the end, (when im finished that is!) what sort of money is an emanage blue? and is it plug and play or remap job type thing? hows is fitting as well?
