Pikey009
Hi all. I was wondering if the glanza rear strut brace will fit into an NA?
FreedomCore
The 3 point brace won't mate.
Pikey009
Not even across the two top mounts?
FreedomCore
The two top mounts fit. But the middle won't
Pikey009
I'm not bothered about it bolting to the floor just if it will actually fit in place
FreedomCore
I think it knocks on the back of the seats.
morgey
Im not sure it even fits across the top. Im sure the uk tower holes are 90degrees to the jap spec ones.
Rob H@RCH Engineering
The glanzas have extra mounting plates on the strut tops for the brace that the N/As dont have so as Morgey says the bolt holes would be out.
Pikey009
Thank god I didn't win it on eBay then! Thanks for the heads up
morgey
You can get a normal 2 point brace. They have 4 holes of which you just use 2 of.
Rob H@RCH Engineering
The one I have for sale in the classified section was made for a N/A. I'm not sure if its rear seat friendly tho!
morgey
Cusco ones fit as i have one with my rears in.
Pikey009
I'll be keeping the rear seats ha ha but thanks. I guess I'm kind of after Toyota option parts for the Sr as I don't want to stray too,far away from factory looking stuff
morgey
Get a toms one, closest to optional you will get for the rear. Starbuck had one i believe. Might be worth hitting him up
Pikey009
Cheers morgey as ever
Di_Bodi
The glanzas have extra mounting plates on the strut tops for the brace that the N/As dont have so as Morgey says the bolt holes would be out. Hi lads - how do you make the glanza OEM rear strut brace to fit on N/A EP91 so? !PLEASE HELP!I have bought the 3 point glanza one (price was really good and has all the plastics! just needs painting as it's blue...). The plan was to fit it this X-mas but I didn't know that it won't fit...;(Regarding the 90deg rotated fittment of top mount (as per photo below):- Is it possible to drill another 2 holes (is it enough room there?) on top of each strut tower and bolt it that way?How is the middle bottom part sitting then against the beam/back seat?I've found out that glanza has an extra factory bracket there (see the part number 58225-10020 as per pictures below) but I'm sure someone has already done this excercise on N/A EP91 without this part and can tell me would couple of washers or 100x20x20mm(say) steel plate do ?Strut tower top:Center bracket: (I wonder can I order it from local dealer...)What I also found this:http://austarletclub.com/index.php?/topic/18747-how-to-glanza-rear-strut-brace-in-aus-spec-ep91/but I don't think I'd go for re-welding!;(Cheers and thanks in advance for all the help - I really want to fit this OEM brace instead of selling it and getting cusco.. Pikey009
I gave up and got a cusco- sprayed it black for a bit more of a factory look
Di_Bodi
Cheers mate!I'll try to get as much advice as possible from other lads here before I give up... I'm sure it can be done!
Pikey009
If you can weld mate then it's definalty doable
Di_Bodi
I gave up and got a cusco- sprayed it black for a bit more of a factory look How did the cusco fit? Just bolt on or you had to cut some plastic out? Have you managed somehow to put them top covers back in place?
morgey
You have to trim a bit as its quite low to the base of the strut tops. I never tried getting my plastics back on top but with a bit of fiddling and trimming i think you could get them on
Di_Bodi
Are the towers or mounts higher in glanza then in n/a???some photos of my strut bar: Lovely condition boot;) - I'm not too sure would I ever cut any plastics there!!not only the alignment is the problem but the hight as well! It's sittin gon the plastic so I'd need to rise the hole bar up? How it comes the glanza has it right?!?alignment:The bottom plate seem to be at strange angle (not level to floor) and hopefully the seat hinge won't be on the way!Who has it fitted - PLEASE HELP Edited December 17, 2015 by Di_Bodi
Pikey009
Wow I never knew they were that far off- I missed out on one by £1 on eBay last month! Trimming the plastics isn't too bad mate. If you've got a dremel then it's fairly easy just measure and take your time cutting. I cut the basic outline using the mini cutting blade and then using the mini sander to neaten and trim a little more as I went. That way I didn't over cut the plastics. The covers won't fit back on as standard but i was thinking of trimming them to see so I'll let you know.
Di_Bodi
Thanks lads! Also if you know who has the glanza brace fitted in n/a - let me know, I have to ask them how did it go!
morgey
The extra glanza studs are raised about 8mm above the top of the strut tower in an extra little cage.As for the floor i think Glanzas have solid rear bench so no hinge in the middle?
