Sorry i thought it was oil level not pressure and the light was never on i just thought it was broken and theres no damage to engine because i topped it up when it was at the low level of the dipstick thanks lads sorry for the misunderstanding.

It is kinda related to the oil level, not enough oil means lack of oil pressure and hence light can come on.



How low did you run it on oil? I think the light comes on at approx 7psi of pressure, which is too late and damage has already been done.

Depends what sort of driving you are doing at the timr. My oil light came on idled for a bit and coasted into work car park. Inspected bearings and crank and no sign off issues engines still going

Damage definately isnt already done or what would be the point of a warning light LOL

Obviously if the light comes on and u keep driving you will fuck your engine.

Most likely thing to happen if you are low on oil or pressure is it may flicker as u turn a corner if you stop the engine and take proper precautions ( check for major leaks, top up oil ) the engine will be fine.

Thats why cars have warning lights instead of stating the obvious lights.
