morgey
A lot of the corolla boys are using hybrid boxes. Taking the lsd and 6th gear from an mr2/s and using that to lower the 6th gear rpms. Apparently the diffs in them boxes are bigger than c52s but I've no proof of that on what I've read
aaddzz123
Reviving a post from the past here, but did anyone actually make any hybrid boxes in the end or find something that could work? I just bought a mk1 mr2 c52 and put my starlet bell housing on and fitted my diff no problem but ran into some..... rough noises 5 minutes into a drive. Need to take it apart to see what's wrong but it's left me wondering if anyone actually went down this route of mixing boxes and found anything that works or doesn't work etc.
HedgeyGedgey
My car had a TRD dogbox in it around 10yrs ago. Only info I could find was they used a gearset from a Corolla. Straight cut and dog engagement, maxed out at 125mph. Cant find much on it mind. But I dont think it was from a starlet
