dwd
Im considering getting a 4 branch manifold made which will also get rid of the cat for an otherwise standard n/a 5efe. Im just curious have people got a noticeable improvement from fitting them to n/a 4efe's and 5efe/5efhe's? Or better still rolling road figures before and after. I have found no factual data for these mods to starlets. Anyone any experiences?
5e colin
sure they do mate but they need to be mapped for it, cant just bolt it on on a NA and expect it to gain just like that there is a zisco ramstyle for 4efe on ere for sale, that with a bigger tb and lighter fly and a remap will get you gains the lighter fly is the best mod of all !!!!!!!! richardc9052
Get an obx mani or mod a 20v mani and downpipe to fit. full 2" exhaust, anything more you will lose mid range power.Throttle bodiesAdvance your timing (makes a massive difference) Fuel pressure reg to compliment the ITB's. You will need to run fairly rich down low to support the extra air up top. 6 speed gear box. Lightened fly and clutch Remove power steering and aircon.Fit 5efhe cams.I had the above minus lightened flywheel, 6 speed and cams. They where next on my list and the car was already stupid quick for a 1.3 n/a!I beat a gt turbo running 0.8bar, all standard apart from exhaust, decat and intercooler. Yours would be even faster being a 5e ;)
dwd
I seen a few cynos 5efe OBX manifolds on ebay, will they fit a starlet? Will it be too long?

Gt turbo would be at least 130bhp with those mods and wouldn't expect the N/A to be even close to that
dwd
I would imagine gearing and turbo lag would have a lot to do with that
Ethanep82
A GT turbo is 133bhp standard?
richardc9052
Yes really. Also my car was originally a 1.0. Everything on it is lighter. Car weighed 720kg with the 1.0 engine and there not much difference in weight to a 4e. It's not about bhp. It's power to weight.

daniel_g
I'll be joining yous in the lightweight EP82 N/a team very shortly !! Cant wait to try and squeeze out every bit of power from a N/a starlet
daniel_g
Also if you want to see how quick these N/a starlets are have a look at Enzos wee red 82ep82 4efe starlet kudos against vs ep91 toyota st…: http://youtu.be/UDxE_DNIRws
Ollieh17
Thats not a race though the ep91 isnt even accelerating
dwd
This is what im using the car for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuGV9E5fNdo Its still 4efe in the vid, you can see why I'll be keeping the power steering
jimmymac101
by the looks of things a proper suspension set up will help you out no end there. dont under estimate the benefits chassis/suspension upgrades James
dwd
Well it needs to be high and soft. A lot of loose gravel tests in quarries etc. Has KYBs, poly bumpstops and ARB
richardc9052
You probably don't have a front anti roll bar which is good but a rear anti roll bar would do wonders for that type of driving. I only have a rear one fitted. Feels brilliant!
