24 cars in total split in to 3 classes, 986/987 boxster s and cayman s, 997 and a 944

Car ran faultless all weekend with me qualifying 3rd in class, finishing p5 in race one and sadly a dnf in race to due to me spinning and ending up beached in the gravel whilst chasing down 3rd with 2 laps left π© but hey ho not bad for a first timer π€·ββοΈ

After a failed test at Blyton park due to the clutch slave cylinder giving up it was straight in to its and my first ever race meeting at Oulton park

Took the boxster for its first shake down on the local industrial estate today with trade plates on, happy to report all good ππ»

Think they may have to be 997 gt3 coffin arms and roll bar tbh to fit 987, I can find out though if your seriously thinking about it

95% done now just got the wiring on the electrical cut off to finish and the rain light to fit then itβs off to shake it down and test it πππ Ride height corner weight and alignment also all done 1350 kilos with driver as per regulations

Interior is nearly done, sparco Rev 3 seat, 6 point omp harness, sparco steering wheel with bg quick release, gt3 cup car short shifter, omp plumbed extinguisher system

Engine and box fitted πͺπ», interior and cage painted in satin black technogrip. Also managed to start reassembling the exterior

Sports option valvetronic exhaust acquired and fitted with actuator flaps welded open π

Freshly rebuilt 3.2 s π brand new factory built short motor with skimmed rebuilt heads

It sits so good π₯° the rear will sit lower as thereβs no engine and gearbox in it at the moment

Suspension and brakes have had a complete component/ nut and bolt replacement with all new parts ππ». Brakes are standard brembo 4 pots all round with factory 3.2 s disks And pagid rs enduro pads all round with goodridge braided flexors. Suspension mods are JRZ adjustable dampers with eibach main and helper springs, gt3 adjustable from coffin arms, adjustable gt3 front roll bar with adjustable drop links, 5mm spacers with lengthened wheel bolts

First up was to strip the car to almost a shell, car was painted in liquid silver. The engine rebuild was outsourced to Porsche race specialist unique Porsche. Then in went the cage from custom cages π Hard top still needs painting just mocking up for fitment π

Thought Iβd share the latest project at work thatβs been going on since February time. My workplace is an approved Porsche repair shop that repair/restore/build road and race cars (mainly Porsche but other stuff too). So Porsche GB approached us about building a 986 boxster s to compete in this years boxster cup ! As weβve already help build 3 of them already for the local Porsche dealerships I got straight to it.

Refurbished thermostat housing running a td low temperature thermostat and new turbo coolant pipes bargain at Β£7 each from Toyota

No all stock internals and no plans to forge it atm, kind of a budget turbo conversion will be good to run half a bar of boost on a stock motor

Amazing story, glad your restoring it, clunking on full lock will be cv joint in the driveshaft, would be easier to just change the driveshaft from a breaker, Iβve got some amber lenses dm me a postal address and Iβll fire them over to u foc of course. Any other questions just ask always happy to help a fellow 1ao sr owner π
