Few Alternative Engine Suggestions Please
Bluebear replied to Steve GT's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Has anyone ever thought about getting an EG/EK chassis and dropping a 4E/5E in? It'd be a lot of work tho... -
I jest, I jest! Tbh, I liked BFMV's earlier stuff, but the albums after that left me a bit underwhelmed. What's their newest stuff like? Also, Phil, you ever heard of Forbidden? They were a Bayside thrash band.
-
*cries* You're such a meanie! MEANIE! Too bad you're listening to music that originated in the 70's and 80's! And BFMV? They're a bunch of emo posers, get that shit off your computer. (My rants are nowhere near as good as yours ) And yes, I actually have some material by Metallica/Megadeath (Only Ride the Lightning and Peace Sells, but eh.) I'll give that Thurisaz a go, they sound good on the Tube of Yous.
-
Of course, what do you expect? We also both like proper music, although my tastes seem to differ from yours

Aye, I want to see if I can get in touch with Rays and see if, by any chance, they still have some of the 5/4s stickers left over.

Picture rape! Pictorial evidence of Volks (SEE I WASN'T LYING YOU IRISH BADGER) Engine. Yes that is Dad you see there, undoing the rear engine mount. Or trying to. Sudden lack of engine about 4 hours later. Ended up just seperating the g'box from engine (stupid battery tray) Bay after quick wipe down. Cleaning up the tarbo and gearbox. Getting the worst of oxidisation off the camcover. Random shot of the GT looking a bit sad. After a bit more cleaning. I have to say I'm very, very surprised it's in as good condition as this, considering it was sat on a miniature forest on the Welsh coast for the best part of 3 years Side shot of the GT after a quick wipe down. Mai waifu. Shiny. The actuator refused to be cleaned. We also had a clean of the bonnet and finally got it out of the bubblewrap, annnddd... I thought the rest of the car was bad with it's copius amounts of orange peel, but the bonnet, words cannot descibe what a Grade-A nonce the previous owner was for thinking it was a good job after spraying it himself. The paint finish is atrocious. It really is, its horrid. It looks alright from a distance, but get about a foot away from it, and you see everything. Respray will soon be on the cards, once it's running.

No, if you're at the red-line, a little red light flashes on and off. The red number denotes the recommended gear to be in for a particular corner, or at least thats what I've assumed.

Welp, the engine is finally out. We don't know where half the connections, pipes etc etc go as they were already off. Took us a long time to get it out, it speeded up considerably once we figured that the g'box *may* have to be separated from the engine and dropped So much rust and oxidisation its unbelievable. I figure that I'll be busy with a wire brush for weeks to come. No pics of the process will be up in this post, they'll come tomorrow as I need to rush out and get copious amounts of alcohol (Thatchers ye?), before I go to a mates tonight. Discovered that we seem to have no alternator, and I'm missing a short 22/23 (I think) spline driveshaft. Sadface.

Rob_bower's 242 bhp SR - Refresh and fueling upgrades.
Bluebear replied to rob_bower's topic in EP91 Progress Blogs
I knew you were going to end up dropping it into the SR, ever since I saw you got the breaker on Facebook those months ago! Temptation too much, eh? -
I'm still on the fence about whether to get a PS3, GT5 and Demons Souls are tempting.
-
Riko, I think you'd still be able to find it easy in shops 2nd hand?
-
Dug out my PS2 and my copy of GT4 the other day, only to find I didn't have the save any more. Sadface. When I booted it up though, and got onto the menus, so many memories came flooding back, having a huge hit of nostalgia every once in a while is stupidly addictive. But alas, since theres no save file, I'm having to do the licences all over again! FUUUU- And since I don't have a wheel anymore, its even harder to be smooth through corners etc. Can only manage to get full silvers on the first licence (B?) Only time I got a gold was on the Coffee Break... Also, the car AI is stupidly retarded. "Oh there is a car that is clearly much faster than me beside me, I shall keep to the racing line anyway hurrr." There's so much JDM goodness in this in comparison to say, Forza 2/3 however, I think I'll be playing it for quite a bit (again). Anyone else still play any of the old games for that nostalgia rush?

I had an affair with my fingers in my parents bedroom because it turned me on. What. Why have I got the most plausible sounding scenario out of the whole thread. FML.

Going to be a mix of 15" Rotas and 14" Volk 5/4s

Could concentrate on a few interior bits? Gearknob, steering wheel. As for exterior, go for a subtle suspension drop, 30mm springs or similar, and get some old-school or subtle rims rocking on it. With the exception of the wheels, all the above items should be <£100 each. Springs may be just below or just above. Of course, you don't want to spend too much on it, it is a first car after all, and it's likely for everyone to have had a little bump or scrape in it. EDIT: Just spotted these, they're 15" tho. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-OZ-Turbo-split-...=item20b18631da
